Apr12 From Italy, with Love

Truman Capote once said, “Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go.” It’s ageless, magical, and if you can escape the tourists (go to the outlying islands) you’ll see time stand still. Continue reading

Oct31 The Carousel

The river had listed on all sides. To the east, it was suffocating the grassy banks of Brooklyn Bridge Park; a mile across the water, the concrete roadways that surround Manhattan had been buried at sea. Yet amid the howls of the wind and and wickedness of the storm, there it stood: A magical island of horses, floating in place in what was now the middle of the East River. Continue reading

Apr24 The Letter “P” and the Everyword Bot

Everyword is a “bot” Twitter account that is currently using a collection of 109,229 words that are slowly dripping into the Everyword Twitter feed. It’s rare that a word on the account gets a lot of Re-Tweets or favorites on Twitter, most people just watching them trickle by, but the “P” section of the dictionary — which apparently contains a majority of NSFW words — seems to be getting a lot of attention. Continue reading

Apr10 Twitter, The Book

I’ve signed a deal with Penguin/Portfolio to write a book about Twitter. I’ll keep this short as I don’t want to spoil the ending. The book is set to be published in late-2013 and will chronicle the story of Twitter from its inception to today, looking at the the ideas that fostered Twitter, along with the business, societal and human aspects of the company.
